Forest Nursery

On the estates of Frijsenborg and Wedellsborg our own forest nursery has always produced the plants for Christmas trees, foliage, parks and avenues and our own forests. This solid background forms the basis of the Frijsenborg Forest Nursery of today - a modern nursery with vast experience in the production of bedding plants for all of the above-mentioned purposes.

 

When ordering, please note that it is possible to buy plants from the forest nursery’s cold store. Here, the plants dug in the autumn and winter can be cooled down to minus 1 - 2° C, and stored under controlled conditions until planting out in the spring. Note that plants from the cold store:

• Can be delivered at short notice
• A number of species from the cold store can even be planted out in June.

Experience shows that the plants from the cold store are more vital as they have not been exposed to winter stress. Freshly dug plants are sent the same day they are lifted from the beds, and are normally received by the customer the next day.
It can be arranged for greater quantities to be delivered in several smaller consignments.

As well as the traditional forest plants, we can offer contractual cultivation of cuttings and ball-plants in briquettes of jiffy sphagnum. Orders of ball-plants must be given at least 4 months before planting.
